What is Myofascial Release Therapy?
Myofascial release is a technique that helps the horse to stretch and relax restricted soft tissues

Muscle restrictions may manifest themselves as any of the following:

1. A history of chronic lameness, injuries or     surgeries.
2. Decreased performance with no diagnosed     problem.
3. Decreased range of motion.
4. Pain sensitive areas / trigger points.
5. Irritability / unwillingness to work .

After a few releases, the restricted tissue will become pliable, restoring the length and health to the myofascial tissues. The pressure of the barriers (knots, lactic buildup, etc.) is removed from pain sensitive tissues (i.e. nerves and blood vessels), restoring the alignment and mobility of the joints. Myofascial Release does not directly manipulate the bone structure of the horse. Instead, it addresses soft-tissue issues that may have pulled or pushed the skeletal structure out of alignment, causing chiropractic problems.

Long-term results are achieved by engaging the entire fascial system and making lasting length changes to the tissue. Thereby, we restore the efficiency within the neuromuscular elements and correct the mechanical length of the connective tissues.

The result is a restoration of the horse's natural coordination, strength, and attitude.
