Currently, we offer a One-Day and a Two-Day Clinic. Both clinics are geared towards the horse owner, trainer, and/or stable owner with little or no experience with Massage and who would like to learn more about the evaluation of lameness and or muscle restrictions.

 
Introduction to Equine Massage Clinic - One Day

The participants learn the fundamental aspects of basic and safe equine massage practice, in order to start the application of regular massage on their horse(s).


The following topics will be covered:

1.
Basic Anatomy and the Circle of Muscle
2. Biomechanics and Conditioning
3. Introduction to massage with:      Positioning,Posture, Contact, Pressure,      Rhythm
4. Massage movements: Stroking,      Effleurage,Kneading,      Compressions,Percussions
5. Warm-up and cool-down of areas to      be massaged
6. A full body Maintenance Massage routine
7. Palpation of the Lower Limbs
8. Stretching instructions

This introduction to equine massage clinic will build your confidence and increase your awareness of your equine friend's needs and physical well-being.
REQUIREMENTS: A minimum of 8 participants and maximum of 15. Auditors are welcome, but will not receive handouts nor will be allowed to participate with the horses.
 
PRICES

Participants: $130.00 *
Auditors: $50.00

*Participant Fees must be collected and received prior to travel departure for the clinic. In case of cancellation by a participant, their fees will be refunded minus $50.00. The host is welcome to tack on a fee in addition to my fees in order to cover their expenses..In this case, the Host should have all Participant Fees paid to Host and then Host should remit balance of PFs directly

TRAVEL: All travel arrangements and costs must be provided by the host and arranged well in advance of the event.

The Two Day Introduction to Equine Massage Clinic covers the same subjects as those in the One Day Clinic (though in much more depth, and with more hands-on practice) PLUS the additional subjects at the bottom of the list. The participants learn the fundamental aspects of basic and safe equine massage practice, in order to start the application of regular massage on their horse(s).


1.  Basic Anatomy and the Circle of Muscle     Biomechanics and Conditioning
2. Introduction to massage with:     Positioning,     Posture,Contact, Pressure,     Rhythm
3. Massage movements:     Stroking,Effleurage,     Kneading,     Compressions, Percussions,     Direct Pressure, Draining.
4. Warm-up and cool-down of areas to be     massaged.

5. A full body Maintenance Massage routine

 8.  Overview of Complementary      Therapies(Chiropractic,      Aromatherapy,Acupuncture,Myofascial       Release, etc) and their role      with Veterinary Care
 9.  Basics of Saddle Fit
10. Heat Therapy & Ice Therapy
11. Lameness Investigation Basics
 
 
Discussion topics will be supplemented with charts and videos. This introduction to equine massage clinic will build your confidence and ability to provide Maintenance Massage for your horses(s). The clinic will also increase your awareness of your equine friend's needs and physical well-being.
